In the era of content creators, where several people are showcasing their talent and creativity through social media, Mudasir Farooq is one such content creator and social media influencer from Kashmir Valley who showcases the social issues with infotainment.

Hailing from Sopore in North Kashmir, he never dreamed of becoming a social media sensation. He runs a page with the name of Kashur Kalakaar where he uploads his content and receives praise from people.

After completing studies in mass communication and journalism at Guru Naanak Dev University in Amritsar, 29-year-old Mudasir Farooq was selected into the American multinational photo and video editing company – Pixopal as a project manager in Pune in 2016.

In 2018, when he traveled to Kashmir for a vacation, an incident happened at a barber shop that prompted him to make videos and upload them to social media.

Recalling the incident at the hairdresser, he said: “Two people shouted at each other while discussing a cricket match and people thought they would never speak to each other because of the exchange of indecent words But after a few minutes, a funny video played on the phone by another person in the store had everyone laughing and they started talking again, surprising everyone.

After this incident, Farooq started researching different aspects of content creation. In 2018, he uploaded his first video content on Facebook for which he received 100,000 views, which encouraged him to continue and the content creation journey started for him.

Now Mudasir uploads about 40 videos in a month and “I’ve been working all the time since October 15 because of the love I got from people.”

Due to the working consistency of 40 videos per month, some people from MX Player want to approach us.

“Maybe we’ll work on MX Player OTT soon if we get permission, then we’ll move our content to that platform,” he said.
