Digimon Survive Devs Ask Players to Avoid Posting Content After Chapter 5

Spoilers in recently released video games are a controversial topic. When a game focuses more on its story, developers may prefer that people don’t post all of their content as soon as the game is released.

A famous example was the rules established by Rockstar Games when Grand Theft Auto V first launched in 2013. They had said that Let’s Plays was fine, but not to upload only the ending or a compilation of the game’s cutscenes.

It seems that Digimon Survive developer Hyde and publisher Bandai Namco feel the same way. Official Game Twitter job a request that players refrain from posting about the story after Chapter 5 for 2 months after the game’s release, i.e. today.

“We ask players to avoid posting anything on social media that could spoil the story from Chapter 5 onwards for the first two months after Digimon Survive Release. let’s keep Digimon Survive a once-in-a-lifetime experience!” the post read.

Of course, there doesn’t seem to be a contract obliging them to enforce these rules. Although it could possibly mean that they might consider hitting those who don’t follow through with copyright strikes. This, however, can only be known after more content is released. So, those planning to create videos of the game should be aware of this.

Here is an overview of the game:

Digimon Survive

It’s a story of survival in a strange new world.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime, Digimon Survive features an all-new adventure set in a mysterious world with characters designed by Uichi Ukumo and music by the highly acclaimed Tomoki Miyoshi.

Digimon Survive sees an all-new group of teenagers, led by Takuma Momozuka, become lost on a school camping trip, finding them transported to a strange new world of monsters and danger.

As they fight their way home through a bustling world of tough decisions and deadly battles, player choices throughout the game will impact the evolution of their monster allies and the final ending. The game’s battles take place in 2D, in a more classic SRPG style.
