Disney+ Unveils UK Original Content Slate – Media Play News

Disney+ on June 23 announced additional content set to premiere exclusively on the service in the UK and Ireland in 2022-23.

Series include “The Patient”, starring Steve Carell and Domhnall Gleeson, “Fleishman is in Trouble”, based on the New York Times bestselling novel and starring Jesse Eisenberg, Lizzy Caplan, Claire Danes and Adam Brody; and “Welcome to Chippendales”, with Kumail Nanjiani.

Oelcome to Wrexham” is a docuseries that traces the dreams and people of Wrexham as Hollywood stars Rob McElhenney (“Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) and Ryan Reynolds take possession of the city’s historic but struggling soccer club. The series begins on August 25.

Other exclusive series premiering over the next 12 months include ‘Mike’ from the team behind the Oscar nominee Me Tonya“The Old Man” with Jeff Bridges, John Lithgow, Amy Brenneman and Alia Shawkat and “Limitless with Chris Hemsworth”.

British originals will also join the lineup over the next 12 months, including ‘Wedding Season’, ‘Extraordinary’ and the ‘Save Our Squad’ docuseries. Also, new seasons of “American Horror Stories” (Season 2) and “Reservation Dogs” (Season 2) are coming soon.

Films debuting on Disney+ UK include Princess, with Joey King on July 1 Not good July 29, Prey, a brand new entry into the Predator exemption on August 5, and Rosaline, with Kaitlyn Dever later this year.

Recently launched series available to stream on Disney+ include Danny Boyle’s ‘Pistol’, ‘The Dropout’ starring Amanda Seyfried, comedy series ‘Only Murders in the Building’ and ‘The Kardashians’.
