NDI®, the world’s preferred technology for moving media over IP and part of the Vizrt Group, today announces the release of NDI 5.5. NDI 5.5 is the latest update delivering enhanced functionality to support content producers, developers, and makers for even more creative freedom to move video and audio across networks.
Continuing the goal of making production technology over IP accessible to everyone, NDI 5.5 delivers user experience enhancements and adds powerful tools including new routing tools, improved audio capabilities, improved functionality and performance on remote connections, and much more. NDI 5.5 supports the needs of cloud, on-premises, and hybrid workflows in broadcast applications and beyond.
NDI provides innovative solutions to the challenges faced by today’s visual storytellers who require low latency, high quality video and sound in addition to unparalleled interoperability. Hardware manufacturers around the world are looking to NDI to lead the charge in the IP media revolution.
“NDI 5.5 follows the recent release of the NDI SDK Plugin for Unreal Engine 5, further demonstrating our commitment to providing the operating ‘glue’ that creators instinctively use when delivering their work, and also providing our partners an ever-evolving platform to create exciting products,” remarks Tarif Sayed, President, NDI. “It’s important to us that our community of users get the best experience, and NDI 5.5 delivers exciting and improved elements that continue to make NDI the standard of choice for visual storytellers, content creators, and makers around the world. entire.”
NDI 5.5 is perfectly positioned to support content creators who want to take advantage of the flexibility of IP networks. This release brings simple yet effective changes to the NDI Tool Launcher allowing more control by users, faster connections with talkback when bringing in remote video sources via NDI Remote, support for multiple sources in NDI Webcams, and more.
New NDI Router
Complex productions can be a headache when managing a large number of inputs and outputs. A brand new free application in the NDI Tools suite, NDI Router, allows users to route NDI sources as custom inputs to selected outputs with a single click.
Buttons can have custom names, and styles and users can preview the source assigned to any destination, making it easier than ever to manage and control inputs and outputs without overseeing each stream independently.
Advanced NDI audio inputs/outputs
Audio can often be the hardest part of video, which is why NDI AudI/O now allows SDK users to connect any audio device as an NDI source without needing to use 3rd third-party software applications and instead use them as an independent source.
This greatly simplifies workflows, saves time and removes a layer of complexity. Building on NDI Audio Direct, NDI AudI/O brings audio over IP to the NDI revolution.
