Road Sofa streaming service to provide curated content for millennials and Gen Z

Road Sofa is the brainchild of Charles Burt and Omar Parker, which was created specifically for the entertainment of young Millennials and Zoomers by an all Gen Z company.

Road Sofa, a Vimeo-powered SVOD OTT platform, will launch in beta later this year to deliver content specifically to millennials and Gen Z in North America, Australia and Greater Europe . Subscribers will be able to access easy-to-watch content curated by zoomers for zoomers.

The online subscription video market has millions of subscribers and expects nearly 500 million in the United States within five years. Yet Zoomers and millennials still struggle to find content designed for their preference for passive viewing. As traditional platforms lose their viewers to social media, Road Sofa will provide an escape from the stress zoomers crave with the quality of established brands.

Subscribers will have access to a wide variety of content tagged for great music tracks and carefree themes. Films resurrected from the public domain will accompany original scripted and unscripted shows. Road Sofa’s creatives are currently producing their own content, including an adventure documentary, Idiots in Search Of, and a comedy documentary, Gummy Bear TV.

Road Sofa plans to operate on a revenue-sharing model with content creators, has production deals with several up-and-coming authors, and maintains a long-term plan to acquire production companies and other brands to grow its library. .
